The library has bright, welcoming children’s areas and the Nōku te Ao Capital E Play – a hands-on play space for under-fives run by Capital E – where tamariki can explore, create, and let their imaginations run wild indoors. It’s a safe, fun environment for children to learn and play while staying warm and dry.
Meet up at the cafe
The on-site café, Central Ground, offers a warm, dry spot to relax with a hot drink or snack. Easy to find in Civic Square, this cosy café is a great place to meet friends or take a break from sightseeing – you can chat over coffee, plan your day, or simply watch the rain from inside with a delicious treat.
Study or work
Take advantage of the free high-speed Wi-Fi, numerous desks and charging outlets, and quiet study areas throughout the library. It’s a calm, well-equipped space to focus and be productive while the storm rages outside.
